A food-first approach featuring a wide variety of nutritious foods is the gold standard to optimize women’s health at each decade of life. That is precisely why this energy drink does not feature a long ingredient list of additional vitamins, minerals, and fiber to supply a day’s worth of nutrients – instead, it selectively fills in a few nutrient gaps for women with the primary purpose of increasing energy level. Is inVok better for you than coffee?

You can still enjoy a cup of joe, but unless you drink your coffee black, keep in mind that many chic coffee drinks contain shots of caramel, chocolate, fruit syrups or cream with plenty of added sugar. With 45 calories per 8.4 fluid oz., inVok serves as a waist-friendly beverage made from only natural caffeine sources. If you are looking for a refreshing caffeine source sans the taste of coffee, inVok offers a new and innovative flavor experience for women.

Is caffeine healthy for women?

Caffeine acts as a mild stimulant to the central nervous system. Caffeine can improve memory, decrease fatigue, and improve your mental functioning. Caffeinated beverages such as coffee and tea contribute to your day’s water intake as non-caffeinated drinks do. High caffeine intake may have a mild diuretic effect (water loss through urination), however the fluid in the beverage usually cancels any loss. Therefore, caffeinated drinks do not cause dehydration or electrolyte imbalance. Heavy daily caffeine use — more than 500 to 600 mg a day — may cause “coffee jitters,” anxiety, insomnia, restlessness, fast heart rate, stomach upset, and muscle tremors.

Caffeine sensitivity depends on the amount and frequency of caffeine intake, body weight, and physical condition. For most healthy adults, moderate amounts of caffeine- 200 to 300 mg a day- pose no physical problems. Caffeine does not accumulate in the body and within three to four hours, most is excreted. The caffeine content of inVok is 85 mg per 8.4 fluid oz., so that if additional sources of caffeine are consumed, daily intake would still fall within healthy guidelines. If you have a medical condition or are pregnant, ask a health professional to guide you on safe caffeine consumption.

How much sugar is in invok?

While many conventional energy drinks contain 20-30 grams of total sugar, inVok has 9-10 grams of total sugar per serving. A few teaspoons of organic cane sugar and fruit juice concentrates are added to enhance flavor and provide additional energy in the form of carbohydrates. The American Heart Association recommends that women limit added sugar to no more than 25 grams of sugar, about 6 teaspoons a day.

What type of sweeteners are used in inVok’s formula?

inVok contains no artificial sweeteners. We start with purified water and blend in natural sweeteners with fruit juice concentrates. We use a natural sweetener blend of stevia leaf extract, organic cane sugar, erythritol and fruit juice concentrates to achieve the desired level of sweetness for 45 calories per serving. inVok’s signature sweetness comes from:

Organic cane sugar, which provides a clean taste profile.

Fruit juice concentrates including pear, apple, lemon cranberry, pomegranate, and blackberry are used to achieve the unique aroma and flavor profiles of inVok Citrus, inVok Cranbery, and inVok Pom-berry (coming in 2016).

Stevia Leaf Extract is a plant-derived zero-calorie sweetener that is 300 times as sweet as sugar. As a natural sweetener, it replaces the need for an additional 10-12 grams of sugar in our formula.

Erythritol is a sugar alcohol that is 60-70 percent as sweet as sugar and blends well with stevia leaf extract. Erythritol is unique among sugar alcohols because it has far fewer calories than the others (so little that a teaspoons has less than 1 calorie) and most of it gets excreted from your body. The other sugar alcohols end up in the large intestine, which can cause bloating and gas. Contrary to its name, sugar alcohols are not real alcohols and offer a clean sweet taste without promoting tooth decay.

What are green coffee beans?

All coffee starts as a green bean. Traditionally, after coffee is harvested, those beans are roasted to bring out the dark colors and bold flavors that create coffee’s signature flavor. Green coffee extract is a natural source of caffeine from coffee, without the roasted coffee flavor. Each serving of inVok provides 79 mg of caffeine from green coffee extract.

How is green tea made?

Green tea comes from the Camellia sinensis plant and is made by steaming tea leaves at high temperatures, which preserves healthy compounds. It can be prepared as a beverage or an extract can me made from the leaves. Green tea extract is a natural source of caffeine and antioxidants called polyphenols. Antioxidants help protect body cells from damage caused by free radicals (unstable substances found in the body and in the environment) that can contribute to the development of disease. Think of inVok’s polyphenols as a healthy “goodie bag” that complements an active lifestyle and antioxidant-rich diet with plenty of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, beans, and nuts. One serving of inVok has:

100 mg of green tea polyphenols, similar to the amount in 1 cup of brewed tea.

52 mg of EGCG*, the most studied and most active antioxidant in green tea that plays a role in protecting the heart, staving off diabetes, and promoting healthy aging.

25 mg of polyphenols from grapeseed extract. Grapeseed extract is produced from the small seeds found in grapes used to make wine and has antioxidant properties that help neutralize free radicals.
